We'll start by opening the 17mm bolt/nut that holds the lower ball joint.
Take off the nut and tap the bolt through the hole. Next we'll take off the 24mm nut that attaches the anti sway bar to the lower control arm. Just take off the nut and washer.
Now we'll open the long 16mm bolt that holds the rubber/metal bearing at the inner end of the lower control arm.
Screw the bolt open all the way and remove it, and now you can remove the whole lower control arm. Now we'll put the new lower control arm on place.
First we'll put the anti sway bar through the hole in the middle and we'll leave the nut loose, only a few millimeters on the thread. Then we'll put the inner end of the control bar with the rubber/metal bearing on it's place and put the long bolt loosely on and now we'll need a crowbar to pivot the control arm down so much that we can get the lower ball joint on it's place. Then we'll start by tightening the bolt/nut for the lower ball joint and next we'll tighten the 24mm nut that attaches the anti sway bar to the control arm and then we'll just put the wheel on and put the car on the ground before we tighten the long 16mm bolt that holds the rubber/metal bearing. That's it! |
